a very merry half birthday

So tomorrow my youngest will be six months old.

Time sure has flown. It doesn’t feel like it has been a half a year already.

on April 26, 2012, my water broke while I was on my lunch break…power walking. I was trying anything to get Miss Reese to come out. I was so happy. I knew she would be here so soon! I was guessing just after dinner time she would arrive.

Well…my water broke at 1:00pm and she was born 14 hours later. 3:00am on Friday, April 27, 2012. I couldn’t have been more happy to see that 6lb baby. Now at 6 months my 20lb baby gives me the biggest toothless smiles everyday.

My oldest daughter, Riley Jo, is three going on 12. Loves being a big sister and thinks the world is her oyster. She bring such a rainbow touch to my life. I appreciate her love for the small things and it has helped remind me of my rainbows and unicorn days.

I love my girls so much. I simply cannot kiss, squeeze and tell them I love them enough.

Sure makes me a bit sad how time flys….but I am just glad my two beautiful, still want to snuggle with mama, girls are not teenagers yet.

Lord help me in 10 years.

Happy half birthday baby burrito.

my village

Babies are asleep.

The long day is over.

I am enjoying my..well a glass of wine.

I have got my hubby next to me re-watching the first season of “Weeds”.

Life feels good.

Excited for our date this weekend!! It’s been a long time since we have had a date.

Keeping life interesting after babies I have heard is hard, but the “village” that helps you raise your kids sure helps you when you need husband and wife time.

I have the best village.

Thank you village people.

come on already

This is frustrating! I felt like once I started this blog I was able to get everything out and into the universe. I was able to type, type, type and now I have nothing.

I thought that if I just started typing maybe something would start to flow.

I have had a pretty relaxed week.

My job allows for much flexibility. I love that I don’t have to get stuck ALL day sitting behind a desk..except for Mondays. I am usually always behind my desk that day.

My house could use an organizing/clean overhaul.

The last three nights my almost 6 month old has slept all night! – I hope I don’t blow the trend by saying that out loud!

It has been pretty warm this week but is supposed to cool off extremely starting tomorrow. I love the fall weather. Makes me feel all cozy.

I sometimes wonder how some working moms have the energy to do it all. Work, look great, eat well, work out, kids always look presentable and always seem happy…is there a pill for that?

Is it normal to go through this drought of  “writers block” if you will. Not that I really consider myself a writer but a thinker who types. I would be afraid to call myself a writer. I wouldn’t want to offend the actual REAL (talented) writers out there.

Well I guess that is it for now.

Till next time.

i want to write

So I haven’t posted in awhile and it’s not on purpose. I feel like I have thoughts I want to share but when I sit to write everything comes out in clumps and unclear. I start on one subject and end with another.

Maybe one day my thoughts will come though with ease.

happy almost weekend to you.

CAM you please excuse me…i have a class to attend

Something very exciting has happened today!

(Back Story!)

I am an assistant manager for an apartment community. I have been in the industry almost six years and have been working hard towards my goal of becoming a property manager. I have a great mentor who has been doing well showing me the ropes and pushing me past (what I thought were my limits) of bettering myself as a person and as a manager.

A lot of companies in this business require or prefer a manager to have their CAM (certified apartment manager) certification. This course is sometimes paid for by your employer. In my case, my employer doesn’t pay for these certifications. This particular course and cost $600.00-$1200.00 pending on who you go through. A lot of money to come up with.

(Back to Now!)

So there is a course starting tomorrow through the apartment association and I emailed the head honcho. I explained that I will be private pay and wanted to know what their pay options are. I knew there was a course starting tomorrow and one beginning in February 2013. Wasn’t expecting to take the course starting tomorrow as I don’t have even half to put down for the course.

Her Reply: I have a scholarship program you can apply for. Fill it out and get back to me today. Show up for class tomorrow. I have a book for you.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HOLY SMOKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I GET TO START THE COURSE TOMORROW AND MOST LIKELY NOT HAVING TO PAY A DIME! (if they accept my scholarship application)

I can’t stop smiling! Getting this certification is like having a 4 year degree in the apartment industry! This is going to help me out with knowledge and look great on my resume!

It feels so great to have this opportunity and I am very appreciative of everyone who helped me get here!

I hope you are having a great day and getting to expand your horizons!

just beat it, beat it

Do you ever feel you are on the verge of a breakdown? Panic attack? Having to take a trip to crazy town?

At one moment you can feel under control and secure. The next you feel like you can barely keep the tears from gushing.

Like it is hard to find a comfortable place. The places that use to feel nice and cozy are now tense and awkward.

Do you want to tell everyone but never want to speak?

Not depressed but adjusting…?

so what’s new with you

The go-to question. We have all used it when we can’t think of anything else to say to someone. And nine times out of ten the response given is, “Oh not much. Just been working. What is new with you?”

Really…what a boring life.I can say this as that is my normal response. But let’s dive in shall we. What have I really been doing?!

-I have been watching my five month old master being a roly-poly. Makes me smile every time she does it because she grunts trying to get over her chubby baby tummy.

-My three year old has started dance class and getting to see her share an experience that I can relate to is very exciting! Having her come home, talking non-stop (and not everything I can understand), trying to get out (quickly) everything she learned. Then trying to show me each step and how to say it. SHUFFLE-STEP she says as she smacks her tap shoe on to my kitchen floor.

-I’ve taken on more responsibilities at work and that has allowed me to become better at my job. Working towards the next step is an everyday challenge but it is one that I am enjoying. Yes, I am one of the lucky people who enjoy what I do and the people I work with. Envy Me!

-My husband and I have been connecting and learning more and more about each other recently. Not bad, but after six and half years it’s nice to know we still have lots to learn. It sure keeps things interesting and keeps us on our toes. But one thing that isn’t new and I hope never changes is how my husband and I love to be with each other and our children. (of course on occasion we wish everyone would vanish into the floor for a few hours…but that is rare)

We all have new adventures and experiences that we come across…so…What’s new with you?
